In recent years, requirements in relation to the quality and productivity of extrusion presses have substantially altered. At the same time, increased demands are also made on the extrusion press tools. In many cases it is necessary to change tools more frequently because of the increased numbers of different profiles. Until now, heating has as a rule been carried out in tool ovens in which a number of tools are placed at the same time. When one tool is removed, a large part of heat energy is lost through the large lid opening. At the same time, heat distribution in the oven becomes uneven when new, cold tools are introduced, thus additionally lengthening the heat up time. This causes heat to be unevenly distributed in the tool, particularly in the case of complicated profiles. |
