If one looks back at the historical path taken to achieve optimum iothermal extrusion, it can be seen to be punctuated by a large number of inventions in machine technology and thermal processes. An important milestone was the introduction of the container back in the 1940's. At the time, only the pressure absorbing capacity was considered important.
